Just like with maps that are available online, users will be able to use downloaded maps virtually the same way. If you’re running iOS 17, this feature is immediately available, and can be pretty useful. For a lot of users, this is a vast improvement over past iterations of Maps, which didn’t allow for this option. Now, users are able to download maps from specific regions and then use them however they see fit, even if they don’t have a Wi-Fi or cellular connection. For those that need it, iOS 17 now allows users to download maps and make them available for offline use, which can be useful both on the iPhone and Apple Watch.
